I believe that people see you by
what they believe you to be by their own standards. One of the more apt
descriptions of this I've heard is that they measure you by their own
yardstick. It is all they know.
Thing is, I think that to truly
know someone, to see their soul, you must first be willing to open your own to
them. Blind eyes can't see.
You must first care enough to
invest the effort it takes to honestly feel them. Being complex creatures,
we cannot be judged or known by a solitary act or thought. I believe
feelings are not right or wrong. They just ARE.
Happenings in life alone form new
feelings and opinions as we live it. We are here to learn and grow, and only
with sincere love and caring in your heart can you open yourself enough to enjoy
and feel another's transitions in life.
I know of no one who is the same
today as 20 yrs ago. How would one stagnate that way? How much has
happened in the last 20 years of your life ? Is it reasonable to believe
with all that, that you would be the same as you were then?
But, just like in a movie, we say
our lines on cue, and pretend to be who we were for those around us who cannot
open their heart to who we really are. And if by chance we know of
one who can both see and accept us for who we are, love us in spite of
it, we find ourselves fortunate to have found true love.
